If this has been posted before then I apologise, but while at our track we were talking that our riders didn't seem to have drive and passion about the match, (apart from one or two), but while watching
George
English at trackside and the world cup speedway with Rob Lyon they all seem dead keen on getting the riders pumping to win but us... We seem dead relaxed and not like we care. So maybe the time has come to make sum changes at the top? Two finals with two losses in 4 years not the best record, but maybe its time to say thankyou but we need to move on.

In all of this I feel sorry for jason lyons who shows weekly he stil has it and cares about the club but no major league title under his belt with is which I feel we deserve

There are many MANY teams in the PL that would kill to have a record like that. And its 3 finals by the way.

And a Pairs win. (Ok not a 7 rider team event but still a noteworthy achievement  )

Crazy... I mean like, so many positive waves... maybe we can't lose, you're on!

Woof woof!

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

If we'd been winning I'm sure the fist pumping and arm waving would have been coming from GD and not George.

Just like we struggle to get decent replacement riders, a decent replacement manager will be just as difficult. Most managers are co-promoters and love him or hate him, I'm pretty certain you won't get a replacement that is more knowledgeable and a kin to the rule book than Graham. Managers in football get sacked due to performances only to get another job at another high ranking club, can't see the logic and I think Graham should stay. I think it's the system that should change and the rider pound for points malarkey, make riders employees and make them loyal rather than temporary contractors.

Anyone who has seen GD in the pits will know that "relaxed" is not in his vocabulary. He is hard, bordering on stern, and expects nothing less than 100% work, effort and commitment from every one of his riders at all times.

He has a quite different personality to the two team managers mentioned above, less emotive and certainly less outwardly friendly. And while he is clearly not to everyone's taste, I'm not aware of any Brummies rider who has ever had a problem with him personally.

GD does sometimes do the fist-pumping and patting-on-the-back stuff - he did it with Kyle Newman when he scored his 8+2 against Redcar. But by and large I don't think he is someone who feels it necessary to hug, cajole or congratulate his riders, when those kind of performances are the minimum he expects from them anyway.

I've seen GD many a time come out a cajole the lads on last night I saw him put his arm around Justins shoulder and then pat him on the back before his race! I don't think theres a better manager out there, straight as straight is with GD. Love him or hate him you won't get a better one

There are riders who have had a problem with GD and surely a Team Manager should use whichever means are most appropriate to get the best out of riders ... some need stern and authorative and others need encouragement. And everyone likes to be congratulated when they have done well.

Currently second in the league, looking odds on for a top four finish. In the final of one cup, semi-finals of the other, second in the best pairs and the season's still got a few weeks to go. After such a bloody awful season, let's change everything....!!!!

There's nothing like having loyal fans and we wonder why some riders don't seem to care.

I could not agree more Andy
Well I was up for it on Wednesday
I thought thats a good sight a Queue at the turnstyles in for a good crowd, then the first thing to go wrong No programmes on one of the turn styles (good start to the evening)

We did not seem to have any fight in us to win the trophy, and as for our manager just to stay in the pits looking over the fence with his head resting on his arms says it all.
Their manger was out on centre green giving support to his riders even when they had won the meeting he was still out there untill the end.
Yes you can say that G.D can expect his riders to give 100% but go out on centre green and get another 10% even if it only looks good to us supporters.

Think on this, We have to race against newcastle again in the knock out cup and a league meeting. I will be expected to come on both times and pay my money to give support to my team is it worth me and a few others with me to turn up. I think I might have to be motivated to come.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what good it really does to be on the centre green waving your fists and jumping up and down

In my opinion, that was just showboating, putting on a 'display' for the Newcastle fans.
Graham Drury says what he needs to say to the riders at the appropriate time, then leaves them to it.
Nothing wrong with that, they are grown men I am sure that they can follow instructions and use their own discretion when needed.

His management style may be different to some, but apart from the disappointment that is obviously still raw from losing another final, his record over the last 4 years is more than any of us would have hoped for.

I find it incredible that we are even discussing this, he built a great team this year and arguably a better team in 2008. Nobody can legislate for the injuries that seem to have plagued us at the worst possible times, lets move on and discuss something worthwhile
