Five members of the Birmingham Monarchs have been invited to represent their countries in forthcoming cycle speedway International matches.

Scotland number one Nathan Groves will ride in the Scots match against Ireland at Newport on 3rd April, whilst earlier in the day Paul Heard will ride for England against Birmingham team mate Ben Mould who will represent Wales at East Newport.

A week later Paul and Ben will renew their rivalry in a 2nd Test Match this time in Bristol, whilst Chris Timms and Mark Winwood will also represent England and Wales respectively.

Finally British Under 19 Champion Paul Heard has also been asked to race against a Rest Of The World Team at Poole at the end of May, a match that will see riders flown in from as far a field as Australia to test the Young British talent prior to them travelling to Poland for the European Championships in July.

The Monarchs return to domestic track action at home in Perry Hall Park this Sunday (4th) when they entertain Leicester in a Premier League match. The match starts at 2pm with free admission and hot and cold refreshments available. Now that the clocks have altered training sessions will run every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6pm – come along and have a go, all equipment will be provided. For more information check out the Monarchs web site www.birminghammonarchscsc.webs.com.
